Harvest
The Harvest campaign was shot in natural dyer Kathryn Davey’s amazing workshop, surrounded by colourful stained pots and piles of natural materials ready to have their colour extracted. The air was fragrant with the essence of eucalyptus, indigo, and madder root, I was in the city but still feeling intimately connected with the natural world.
Working with photographer Jose Armand is always going to be a fun shoot – he brings the moves and the music! Messi, our gorgeous, languid and super-relaxed model, made it look easy. Meanwhile, Fern, a newly graduated fashion design student, was organising us all, ironing like crazy and keeping everything running smoothly.
I could see that to shoot in this stunning setting was inspiring for the team, working in such an exciting sensory studio surrounded by a sense of purpose and respect for materials. I couldn't help but feel that the space itself was part of the artistry, enhancing the beauty of the process.
The workshop’s large roof windows flooded the space with soft diffused light, and we got to work.
